Booking Your Act
Dear Friends,
It’s with heavy hearts that we’re writing to you today. After over a year of hard work, Sprout will be closing its doors for good on Monday, September 5th. We’re in the process of contacting the booking staff at the few other Richmond small venues to pass our calendar and contacts along, but we can’t guarantee anything.
That said, here’s a little info, for whatever it’s worth:
Small Venues:
**Strange Matter – please read http://www.strangematterrva.com/booking.html and then email them. Their booker is Mark.
**The Camel – please email booking@thecamel.org
**Please note that the next two links are not for booking shows – they are not venues and do not book shows, so please do not bombard their inboxes. However, they’re fantastic folks doing their best to keep the RVA music scene thriving, and by clicking through you may also find some helpful resources here:

We’d like for you to know that you’ve made our time here incredible. We were very happy and proud to see such a diverse array of awesome, talented local and touring acts parade through our back room here. RVA bands, we very much appreciate everything you’ve done to help us out along the way. And for those of you who had a show booked here as part of a tour, we’re especially sorry to be squeezing your gas $$ pipeline a little tighter, and wish you the best of luck finding a replacement venue.
We will miss all of you. We hope to see you again someday, in some other back room in this little city of ours. Thanks for everything.
XOXO,
Gabe Lopez/Marissa Lay
Sprout Booking
All of our shows start at 10pm, and have to be over by 1:30. That means that we can’t have more than 4 bands on any given night, so keep that in mind for the show you’re trying to book! Shows booked Monday through Thursday are 18 and up. Friday and Saturday shows are 21 and up. We are also unable to do much promotion for our shows, so we leave that up to you.
We try to book all of our shows 1-2 months in advance, but do sometimes need fillers for other shows. Weekend shows are of course the first to go, so if you want a Friday or Saturday night, try to get in touch with us 2 months in advance.
Local bands: You guys are our lifeblood! We want nothing more than to have you come in, play and have a good time. Since we get so many requests, all we ask is that you try and give us a couple dates that you’re willing to play, and try to set up a lineup for the show in advance. It helps us out a lot, as well as ensures that you’re getting the type of bill that you want to play!
Touring bands: Richmond is full of awesome bands and promoters that would love to set up shows with you. We ask that you try to hit them up as you’re coming through. With our busy schedules it can be hard for us to find bands to fill out the bill for you and ensure a good crowd. If you do book with us, you can send any fliers or press kits to the address above.
Here’s a handy-dandy web form to get the booking ball rolling!
